HTC, Inc. - Customer Case Study

HTC, Inc., the largest telecommunications cooperative in the United States, needed robust disaster avoidance and centralized control to prevent outages from hurricanes, power failures, and routine issues while supporting virtualized back-end services. Working with Hewlett Packard Enterprise and already running HPE 3PAR StoreServ, HPE StoreOnce, HPE StoreVirtual and HPE ProLiant servers, HTC deployed HPE Storage Operations Manager to establish end-to-end visibility and centralized management across multiple storage environments.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented HPE Storage Operations Manager (SOM) to deliver a consolidated, near‑real‑time dashboard and cross‑platform correlation of arrays, SAN fabric and hosts. The solution deployed in under an hour and produced value in minutes, sped discovery by 8x, uncovered five unused 16GB switches, enabled proactive capacity planning (avoiding deletion of backups), reclaimed unused storage to delay purchases, and freed IT staff to focus on innovation like desktop virtualization.
