A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, a leading genomic research center that generates over 1 PB of data per month across 16 labs and 34 life‑science companies, faced mounting challenges managing and analyzing massive sequencing datasets. After ongoing engagement with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, HudsonAlpha tested and adopted HPE Synergy (with HPE D3940 Storage, HPE Hyper Converged 380 systems and HPE OneView) to replace slow, inflexible infrastructure and better meet growing storage and compute needs.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented a composable, software‑defined HPE Synergy platform that unifies compute, storage and networking and exposes a single API for automation. The solution cut resource re‑provisioning from four days to about two hours (and reduced resource revisions for whole human genome analysis workloads to seconds), increased storage capacity while lowering cost‑per‑terabyte, accelerated workload provisioning and supported HudsonAlpha’s research and education programs—delivering measurable time and cost savings and faster genomic analysis.
