HPE Storage Transforms Production for Italian Ceramic Tile Manufacturer

Emilceramica, an Italian ceramic tile manufacturer, faced growing risk to business continuity after discovering nearly 40TB of unbacked graphical and R&D data and operating an aging IBM/VMware infrastructure tied by a single 10Gb link. The company engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise (working with partner NETMIND) to run proofs of concept and find a high-availability, scalable backup and archiving solution.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise deployed a hyper-converged HPE solution—HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 servers, HPE 5700 switches, HPE StoreVirtual VSA clustering, HPE StoreEasy 1650 NAS, HPE StoreOnce VSA backup and an HPE StoreEver MSL2024 tape library—enabling cross-site replication, virtualized workstation delivery and long-term archiving. The HPE implementation boosted system availability by 50%, accelerated deployment of graphical workstations, delivered rapid backup and recovery and provided scalable capacity to protect Emilceramica’s mission‑critical business, graphical and R&D data.
