A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
Hong Leong Asia Ltd.’s Building Materials Group (HLA BMG) needed to upgrade its SAP ERP platform and strengthen disaster recovery while reducing data‑centre power and operating costs and coping with limited WAN bandwidth. The company engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise, leveraging HPE Technology Consulting Services and HPE infrastructure — including HPE UX rx2800, HPE DL380p ProLiant, HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7200, HPE StoreOnce 2700 and HPE Data Protector — to support the SAP migration and DR requirements.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise planned and executed the SAP migration, delivered a hot Disaster Recovery design (using Oracle Data Guard on HPE storage/backup), provided post‑migration tuning and knowledge transfer, and validated operations. The outcome was much improved RPO/RTO versus cold/warm DR, reduced downtime, the ability to generate project costs in hours instead of days, lower administration costs, higher employee productivity and a stronger go‑to‑market capability that gave HLA BMG a competitive edge.
