HGAA - Customer Case Study

Hypo Group Alpe Adria AG (HGAA), a regional banking group serving more than 1.2 million customers across southeastern Europe, needed to cut rising IT costs and improve core banking performance after selling its in‑house IT unit ZIS. Hewlett Packard Enterprise won the bid to absorb ZIS and modernize HGAA’s Temenos core banking environment, replacing costly IBM Power Systems/AIX infrastructure with an open, scalable platform.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented HPE Integrity Superdome X servers, HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7400 storage and a virtualized Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment to deliver Temenos as a managed service. The HPE solution delivered a 2.5x (250%) performance increase, 30% better operating efficiency, 38% lower capital expenses and an expected 78% reduction in operating expenses over four years, while speeding provisioning from days to hours and improving availability.
