Gulf Air bolsters network security with HPE TippingPoint

Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain operating a large regional network, faced growing botnet activity and malicious inbound and outbound traffic that threatened passenger data and business continuity. To shore up its network egress and ingress points, Gulf Air selected Hewlett Packard Enterprise and deployed HPE TippingPoint Next‑Generation Intrusion Prevention System along with the TippingPoint Security Management System and Threat Digital Vaccine service.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented two HPE TippingPoint Next‑Generation IPS appliances for high availability, plus TippingPoint SMS and ThreatDV filters to automatically block threats based on policy. The solution dramatically increased blocked threats while cutting false positives to just two over six years (and zero in the last three), avoided thousands of dollars in potential downtime, simplified security management, and provided actionable reporting to proactively manage risk.
