Guangzhou Securities, a long-established securities firm, faced a disjointed, multi-vendor data centre with low server utilization, difficulty managing 200+ VMware virtual machines, and insufficient scalability to support business growth. After discussing cloud options with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, the company sought a flexible, vendor-neutral platform and IaaS layer that would make full use of existing IT investments while reducing management complexity and costs.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented an HPE CloudSystem-based private cloud using the HPE Matrix Operating Environment with HPE ProLiant BL680c G7 and DL380p Gen8 servers, HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7400 storage (21.6 TB raw), and HPE Brocade SAN switches. The solution integrated 200+ virtual machines into a unified resource pool, automated resource allocation through a CMS server and self-service portal, eliminated vendor lock-in across HPE, Dell and IBM kit, and improved resource utilization and deployment speed—reducing operational overhead and protecting prior IT investments.
