A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
GSN Games, a leading cross-platform entertainment company that ships dozens of new titles and multiple weekly releases, faced a scaling challenge: A/B test and analytics queries that once took seconds had ballooned to 24–36 hours as the user base grew to tens of millions. To regain speed and enable real‑time decision making, GSN Games turned to Hewlett Packard Enterprise and its HP Vertica analytics platform to power high‑velocity experimentation and enterprise analytics.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise piloted HP Vertica for A/B testing and then integrated the platform across GSN Games’ business, ingesting roughly 0.5 TB of raw data per day into a 50–100 TB repository and enabling real‑time analysis of trillions of data points. The implementation cut A/B test query time from up to 36 hours to less than one‑half second, accelerating iteration, improving feature and monetization decisions, increasing player engagement, and allowing marketing to tie revenue to acquisition and optimize ad spend.
