A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
Focus International, part of JD Sports Fashion plc, faced growing concerns about availability, slow restoration and insufficient scalability from a dated, heterogeneous IT environment. They engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise to modernize their infrastructure with HPE server, storage and networking solutions—including HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 servers, an HPE MSA 2040 storage array and HPE 2820/2920 switches—alongside virtualization and replication technologies to support robust disaster recovery and lower operational overhead.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s solution, delivered with partner CSG, implemented a virtualized environment with six HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 servers, the HPE MSA 2040, upgraded HPE switches and Hyper-V/Veeam replication. The deployment cut restoration times from 24 hours to 15 minutes (a 98% reduction), halved power and cooling costs, reduced hardware footprint and cabinets, and substantially increased availability, scalability and ease of maintenance.
