A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
EPAM Systems, a global software engineering services firm, needed a hybrid cloud to eliminate manual provisioning of thousands of VMs, speed up developer/test environment delivery, and support a Continuous Delivery model. After an open tender Hewlett Packard Enterprise was selected to provide HPE Cloud Service Automation (CSA), HPE Operations Orchestration and related software to integrate EPAM’s heterogeneous infrastructure and automate resource delivery.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented a three‑level cloud platform (HPE CSA + HPE Operations Orchestration with connectors to VMware, Microsoft SCVMM and AWS) in under five months; the rollout began with 20 projects, added a second data center in Budapest within a month, and ultimately migrated the majority of EPAM’s ~2,000 projects. The automation cut manual provisioning (previously 8–16 working hours per request), enabled releases in days under Continuous Delivery, reduced support and build team workload so demand is met without increasing headcount, and delivered an estimated payback within one year.
