A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
El Ezaby, a leading Egyptian pharmacy chain with more than 90 retail outlets, faced performance and scalability problems as rapid growth and expanding data volumes overwhelmed its SAP ERP and CRM systems—causing slow transactions, inability to check inventory across stores, and customer dissatisfaction. To address this, the company engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise to modernize its SAP HANA environment using HPE Integrity Superdome X, HPE 3PAR StoreServ storage, HPE 5130 networking, HPE ConvergedSystem 500s, HPE StoreOnce backup, and HPE Datacenter Care services.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented a tailored SAP HANA solution on Superdome X with complementary HPE storage, networking and DR systems, and integrated/support services. The upgrade delivered dramatic gains: transaction processing sped up 12–18× (from 2–3 hours to about 10 minutes), data-collection times improved 12–24× (from a full day to 1–2 hours), and latency was eliminated—enabling real‑time inventory sharing, higher customer satisfaction, better sales, and five years of capacity headroom while ensuring business continuity.
