Columbus Communications unites the Caribbean with HPE OneView

Columbus Communications, a telecommunications service provider operating across the Caribbean and Central/Latin America, needed a cookie‑cutter, power‑resilient server infrastructure and centralized management to deploy and manage systems across 26 islands with limited local IT staff and erratic power. They selected Hewlett Packard Enterprise and its HPE ProLiant Blade Servers and HPE OneView management software to address differing voltages, reduce travel and downtime, and simplify remote operations.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented HPE ProLiant BL460c blades in c7000 enclosures with HPE OneView and HPE Proactive Care, enabling “one‑pane‑of‑glass” remote provisioning and monitoring. The deployment let Columbus bring three island sites online in three hours (versus weeks and an estimated 10 people per island previously), cut travel and provisioning costs, lowered power and cooling consumption, improved uptime through automated alerts, and provided a repeatable configuration for further island rollouts.
