City of Mandurah Refreshes Storage to Improve Performance

City of Mandurah, the local government for a growing coastal city in Western Australia, faced an ageing Storage Area Network that could no longer meet performance needs or support future initiatives like VDI. To replace the failing array and boost application responsiveness, the City engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise and selected the HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7400 Storage (with HPE P2000 backup arrays and HPE ProLiant servers).

Hewlett Packard Enterprise delivered the HPE 3PAR solution (implemented by HPE Technology Services) on a four‑year lease with a three‑day deployment and zero downtime during cutover. The new SAN provided hardware‑based thin provisioning, headroom to add controllers and disks, and proactive support; measurable impacts include 100% uptime in the first five months, markedly faster application responsiveness and improved business efficiency, and reduced administrative overhead.
