A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study

Canadian Blood Services - Customer Case Study

Canadian Blood Services, a national not‑for‑profit that manages the blood supply for provinces and territories across Canada, faced reduced funding from health ministries and mounting internal demand for IT work. To demonstrate and deliver greater business value while doing more with less, Canadian Blood Services turned to Hewlett Packard Enterprise, implementing HP Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) to replace a manual, Excel‑based intake and tracking process.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s PPM centralized demand, in‑flight projects, time tracking and reporting, enabled weekly status reporting and fiscal year master planning, and introduced workflows for architectural and governance reviews. As a result Canadian Blood Services gained visibility into true costs and resource capacity, improved project controls and benefit tracking, reduced Service Desk incidents, and moved toward a target shift from 75% “run” work to 50% “grow and transform,” supported by ongoing Hewlett Packard Enterprise TAM support and upgrades.
