A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
BNY Mellon, a global investments company with $1.7 trillion in assets under management, faced limited transparency into IT resource availability and could not see or balance future project priorities across siloed business lines. Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented the HP Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) Resource Management Module to provide a forward-looking, role- and skill-based view of resource supply and demand.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s PPM RM gave BNY Mellon real-time visibility into resource roles, skills and capacity, supporting resource planning for about 950 concurrent projects and extending to roughly 13,000 users (including ~3,000 senior managers and ~10,000 IT staff). The solution enabled demand capture and prioritization, accelerated time-to-market for high-priority projects, and improved forecasting—driving a 12% shift from tactical to strategic work in 2014 (valued at $88,650,456) and a 4% reduction in administrative effort.
