A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
BCCSS (BC Clinical and Support Services) provides centralized IT support for British Columbia’s six Health Authorities and faced inefficient, siloed architectures, manual inventory processes, and time-consuming change management. To modernize IT asset and configuration management, BCCSS selected Hewlett Packard Enterprise and its Service & Portfolio Management (SPM) suite — including HPE Asset Manager, HPE Service Manager, HPE UCMDB and Universal Discovery — together with HPE ProLiant and 3PAR infrastructure.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise, working with partner Effectual Systems Group, implemented a real-time Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) solution in six weeks, automating discovery and configuration across 4,000 servers, 1,000 applications and about 500 contracts. The rollout produced measurable gains: $500,000 in consolidated infrastructure and process savings, $100,000 saved by insourcing incident tickets, $250,000 saved on the investment with the partner, and a 50% ROI in the first year, along with improved availability, visibility and productivity.
