A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
Banco central Do Brasil, Brazil's highest financial authority, needed a reliable way to define and manage programs and projects that supported its strategic goals while maintaining strict regulatory and financial controls. Facing roughly 180 projects per year, fragmented toolsets, and risks of budget overruns, cancelled projects and non‑compliance, the bank engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise to deliver a centralized project and portfolio management solution using Hewlett Packard Enterprise's HP Project and Portfolio Management Center (PPMC).
Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented PPMC, integrated it with the bank’s legacy HR and accounting systems, and worked with HP Professional Services to configure modules for proposals, scope change and risk management, financial management, portfolio controls and document management. The solution centralized project and financial data, enabled earned‑value calculations, improved resource utilization, reduced change orders and funding of non‑strategic projects, lowered compliance and budget risks, and streamlined management of ~180 projects per year — outcomes that helped Banco central Do Brasil win the 2014 PMO of the Year award.
