Avon Cycles Ltd. improves supplier management with SAP HANA

Avon Cycles Ltd., an Indian bicycle manufacturer producing two million cycles a year with a complex supply chain (250 models and ~350 components per bike), needed real‑time Material Resource Planning because its Oracle database forced overnight MRP runs and slowed business processes. To address this challenge the company selected Hewlett Packard Enterprise to deploy SAP HANA on HPE AppSystems for SAP HANA.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented three small HPE AppSystems (256GB each) with synchronous real‑time replication and hot‑standby redundancy, plus Fast Start Services and a staged migration (with partner vCentric). The change cut MRP run time from 1–2 hours to about 11 minutes (>90% improvement), sped other reports from 15 minutes to 5 seconds (~99%), and reduced trucks waiting at the factory by 50–60%, producing measurable cost savings, higher user productivity and improved supplier and dispatch management.
