Case Study: Asante achieves high availability and rapid Epic EMR deployment with Hewlett Packard Enterprise converged infrastructure

A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study

Asante prescribes HPE converged infrastructure for critical Epic EMR

Asante, the largest healthcare provider in nine rural counties serving more than 580,000 people, needed an IT platform that would ensure high availability, reliable performance and seamless scalability for its critical Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) applications. To meet that challenge, Asante turned to Hewlett Packard Enterprise and deployed an HPE converged infrastructure—including HPE BladeSystem, ProLiant BL460c server blades, HPE Virtual Connect FlexFabric, HPE 3PAR StoreServ storage and HPE OneView—to support Epic Hyperspace, Citrix XenApp and a variety of back-end Epic services.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented a stretched, active‑active converged infrastructure across two data centers with storage federation and Adaptive Optimization, automating provisioning and simplifying administration through HPE OneView. The solution delivered continuous availability and improved workload agility, reduced Epic environment delivery times from months to days, and removed IT bottlenecks—allowing Asante to grow and evolve its Epic services with higher reliability and faster time to value.
