AmerisourceBergen - Customer Case Study

AmerisourceBergen’s Lash Group, a global pharmaceutical sourcing and distribution company, faced a dramatic seasonal spike in January when re‑verification drove concurrent system users from 3,500 to 5,000 across six U.S. cities, stressing its Citrix virtual‑desktop environment and lacking a production‑like test setup. To validate capacity and avoid costly downtime, AmerisourceBergen engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise and used HP Performance Center (along with HP testing tools) to replicate real‑world, distributed usage.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented distributed load testing with Performance Center using Citrix and Web protocols, supported by HP Quality Center, ALM, QuickTest Professional and WebInspect, and worked with partner Orasi to run tests against cloned production data. The result: AmerisourceBergen handled the 5,000‑user peak with no performance degradation and fewer production support issues, achieved earlier detection of problems, improved monitoring and procedures, and recorded its most successful re‑verification event—up from prior peak users of 2,800.
