A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
AmeriPride, a North American uniform rental and linen supply company, needed to transform a distributed, aging IT environment across 45 branches to support “extreme customer service” and growing digital and mobile interactions. To gain agility and consolidate operations, AmeriPride turned to Hewlett Packard Enterprise and deployed HP BladeSystem technology, including HP ProLiant BL460c Gen8 Server Blades, along with HP storage and management tools.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented a centralized blade architecture (HP BladeSystem c7000 enclosures), 90% virtualization on VMware, HP 3PAR StoreServ 7400 storage, HP StoreOnce backup, and HP management and support services, enabling rapid provisioning and modular upgrades. The result: all 45 branches consolidated into a single data center, proof-of-concept environments provisioned in minutes instead of a month, a 30% smaller data center footprint while server instances grew 20%, energy load reduced from 73% to 43%, and virtually zero downtime versus prior frequent outages.
