A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
American Water, a large provider of water and wastewater services, faced the challenge of ensuring robust performance across many customized, frequently updated SAP modules while avoiding the high time and cost of full manual regression testing. To address this, American Water engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise and its software tools—including Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) 12.01 and Unified Functional Testing (UFT) 12—along with SAP Test Acceleration and Optimization (TAO), SAP Solution Manager and Aris BPM to better prioritize and automate testing.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented an integrated testing solution that standardized test plans, tied testing to core business processes, and enabled non‑technical SMEs to help generate scripts later reviewed by IT. The result was automated regression testing that reduced testing costs, freed IT staff for higher‑value work, strengthened SAP performance and service quality, and gave American Water measurable metrics on time and cost savings.
