Affinity Credit Union uses HPE Security Fortify on Demand

Affinity Credit Union, a Saskatchewan-based financial institution with about CAN$4.5 billion in assets, 140,000 members and 76 branches, needed to ensure the security of its pioneering mobile and web banking applications—most notably a mobile remote deposit capture app launched in mid-2013. To address this fast-moving, high-risk development effort, Affinity engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise and its cloud-based HPE Security Fortify on Demand service for independent security analysis.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise delivered Fortify on Demand as a SaaS solution to perform static, dynamic and mobile security testing, returning prioritized reports with remediation guidance and auditor expertise. The cloud service was quick to deploy, supported Affinity’s fast time-to-market goals, gave independent oversight that reduced risk to members and the brand, and helped secure the iOS launch (with Android and other platforms following) while becoming part of Affinity’s ongoing application security process.
