Case Study: Boeing achieves faster MTTR and higher application availability with Hewlett Packard Enterprise

A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study

Preview of the Boeing Case Study

Aerospace leader leverages HPE monitoring tools to improve application performance, speed MTTR

Boeing, the world's largest aerospace company, needed a standardized, efficient way to monitor the availability and performance of engineering and customer‑facing applications used by Boeing engineers, airline customers and suppliers. Boeing engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise to deploy HP Business Service Management (BSM) and related monitoring solutions — including HP SiteScope, HP Service‑Level Management (SLM), HP Business Process Monitor (BPM), HP Real‑User Monitoring (RUM) and HP Diagnostics — to gain end‑to‑end application visibility.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented the BSM stack in phases (baseline uptime with SiteScope/SLM/BPM, deep diagnostics with RUM/Diagnostics, and RtSM dependency mapping), integrating with other HP software and leveraging partner J9 Technologies and HP Premier Support for rollout. The outcome: Boeing now monitors more than 250 applications, reduced incident call involvement from 15+ people to 2–4, cut MTTR for monitored components from about 2 hours to roughly 10 minutes, increased Commercial Aviation application availability from 99.7% to >99.9%, and raised mission‑critical availability from 99.4% to >99.99%.
