AAIB improves efficiency of IT service management

Arab African International Bank (AAIB), Egypt’s fastest‑growing bank, needed to shift its IT organisation from a technology focus to process‑ and service‑centric operations to handle rapid growth and reduce time to market. To achieve ITIL and ISO/IEC 20000–aligned service management, the bank engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise for consultancy and training, including an ITSM assessment and hands‑on ITSM education delivered in Egypt.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise conducted a comprehensive ITSM assessment, provided a two‑year transformation plan, defined and documented 16 key ITSM processes, built a service catalogue, and delivered face‑to‑face training and knowledge transfer via a single dedicated consultant. As a result, AAIB now has clearer roles and responsibilities, improved task segregation, increased IT efficiency and flexibility, and the ability to establish SLAs with business units—outcomes the bank says exceeded expectations.
