A Heroku Case Study
Goodshuffle, launched in 2013, is an event rental marketplace and the maker of Goodshuffle Pro, an all‑in‑one business platform for event rental companies. Starting as a side project, co‑founders Andrew Garcia and Erik Dreyer needed to get an MVP to market quickly and avoid costly, time‑consuming DevOps and infrastructure management while ensuring high reliability for time‑sensitive event customers.
They built on Heroku from day one, using its managed platform, buildpacks, add‑ons, and services (Heroku Postgres, Redis, S3/CloudFront) to deploy with a simple git push and extend functionality in minutes. The result: multiple daily deployments, 99.99% uptime, faster time‑to‑market, and the ability to focus on product and growth—Heroku now hosts seven Goodshuffle apps and serves as the core of their architecture.
