A Heroku Case Study

Visitor Management App on Heroku Makes Visit Data Actionable by Syncing with Salesforce

Traction on Demand’s Traction Labs built Traction Guest to replace outdated visitor logbooks and capture actionable visit data—linking visitors, legal signatures, and visit events to a company’s CRM. Faced with the need for secure, customizable visitor workflows that integrate with enterprise systems, they wanted a solution that delivered a polished visitor experience while storing visits as relationship data in Salesforce.

They built Traction Guest on Heroku as a suite of web, mobile and front‑end apps, integrating with Salesforce, DocuSign, Google Drive, Active Directory and Slack, and using Heroku add‑ons for data, monitoring and email. The product automates registration, badge printing and host notifications (email/SMS/Chatter), logs visits as leads or contact activity in Salesforce, and scales for enterprise demand—launched in 2015 and adopted by early enterprise customers, it turned visitor records into a secure, CRM‑linked business asset.
