A Heroku Case Study
Moneytree is a Tokyo-founded fintech that aggregates and manages financial data for consumers and businesses in Japan and Australia. As one of only a few data-aggregation providers in Japan, it faced strict regulatory and customer-trust requirements for protecting sensitive financial information while operating with a small engineering team and expanding into new regions.
By running its platform on Heroku—using Private Spaces plus Heroku Postgres and Redis in conjunction with AWS Aurora—Moneytree delegated infrastructure-level security, compliance, and operations to the platform. This reduced the need for dedicated DevOps, ensured regional data residency and lower latency, and let the team focus on product development and open-banking innovation, accelerating expansion and improving the user experience.
