A Heroku Case Study
SharinPix is an image-management app that spun out of a French construction team to help businesses capture, annotate, and use photos within Salesforce. Their challenge was to provide a seamless, native Salesforce experience while handling large image files, searchable metadata, real-time data availability, automated tagging, and the ability to scale without a dedicated DevOps team.
SharinPix built a Ruby on Rails service on Heroku, using Heroku Connect for real-time bi-directional sync with Salesforce, S3 for image storage, Heroku Postgres (with a follower) for analytics, Redis and Sidekiq for caching and background jobs, and add-ons like Cloudinary, Elasticsearch, SendGrid, and Pusher; they also use Salesforce Einstein for automated image categorization. The result is a responsive, Salesforce-native workflow that scales on demand, speeds development, supports large bulk imports, and has enabled global customer growth.
