A Heroku Case Study
Salesforce, which serves more than 150,000 customers, faced a major challenge in its annual Go For Growth go‑to‑market planning: collating and cleaning millions of rows from multiple Salesforce orgs, data warehouses and Workday. The prior process was manual, error‑prone and took weeks—made worse by rapid data growth and inconsistent labeling across sources.
The team implemented Mulesoft to ETL disparate sources into a single Heroku Postgres instance, used Heroku Connect for bidirectional sync with Salesforce orgs and leveraged SQL processing and Heroku Dataclips to share results. The new workflow cut data transformation from weeks to about four days, eliminated frequent human errors, saved more than five weeks of effort, and delivered fast, accurate insights to inform territory and resource planning.
