Heroku App Takes the Sting Out of Cancelling Pre-Paid Hotel Bookings

Roomer Travel is a peer-to-peer marketplace (founded in 2011, based in Tel Aviv and New York) that helps travelers resell nonrefundable hotel reservations and offers optional cancellation protection. The company needed to scale a global marketplace and high‑volume API integrations while avoiding the complexity and cost of managing infrastructure.

After evaluating platforms, Roomer launched on Heroku for rapid, one‑click deployment, rich add‑ons, and easy scaling. Following a short AWS trial they returned to Heroku; today about 90% of their stack runs there, their API handles up to 10,000 requests per minute, and the platform has reduced overhead, sped deployments, and given them the confidence to grow long term.
