A Heroku Case Study
Yesware, a Boston-based email productivity startup, helps sales reps close more business by bringing real-time email tracking, templates, scheduling and analytics into the inbox and linking those insights to Salesforce. The core challenge was making Gmail-based workflows and a CRM work seamlessly together while enabling rapid product iteration and scalable infrastructure to support a growing sales app.
Yesware built a microservices Ruby stack on Heroku with integrations to Postgres, Mongo, Redis and Salesforce, and delivered inbox features like open/reply tracking, mail merge, click-to-call and a Salesforce sidebar. The Heroku/AppExchange approach let the team iterate quickly and scale from one app to about 50, drove up to a 60% increase in marketing-qualified leads, now generates roughly 35–40% of leads via the AppExchange, and helped Yesware establish itself as an enterprise solution.
