A Heroku Case Study
Greystone, a leading U.S. commercial real estate finance firm, needed to modernize its legacy loan-processing platform. Although the company used Salesforce for CRM, the sales organization wasn’t fully leveraging it and the proprietary lending system lacked flexibility, integrations, and an accessible customer experience. An autonomous Greystone Labs team was formed to build a faster, more iterative, and user-friendly loan processing system.
The team rebuilt the customer and internal apps on Heroku tightly integrated with Salesforce (Heroku Connect, OAuth, Apex APIs), using Heroku Postgres, Rails/Django back ends, React front end, and CI/logging add-ons. Launched rapidly, the platform processed over $800M in loans within four months, halved loan processing time (with further reductions targeted), brought stronger security and compliance, and delivered a smoother user experience for customers and staff.
