A Heroku Case Study
Zayo Group, a Boulder-based provider of fiber, bandwidth, colocation and cloud services with a 110,000-mile network across the U.S., Canada and Europe, needed to simplify the complex process of buying network services. Customers faced a maze of technologies, locations and pricing options, and Zayo’s goal was to transform customer engagement into a fast, frictionless e-commerce experience—ideally a purchase process taking two minutes or less.
Zayo built Tranzact 3.0 on Heroku alongside Salesforce, using a single-page AngularJS front end, a Node.js REST API, Heroku Postgres and Heroku Connect to sync relevant data. The new platform delivers real-time quotes across 100,000+ locations, responsive web and mobile ordering, and improved developer velocity through polyglot support. As a result, Zayo now offers a secure, scalable, lightning‑fast quote-to-order experience that makes buying and selling bandwidth significantly easier.
