A Hero K12 Case Study
Margate Elementary, led by STEM coordinator and HERO Champion David Rothman, faced the challenge of moving from handwritten certificates and uneven, siloed behavior recognition to a consistent, school-wide positive behavior system. After past technology attempts failed to stick, the school sought a solution that could make positive reinforcement easy, equitable, and data-driven — so they adopted Hero K12’s HERO behavior management platform.
Hero K12 implemented a phased rollout of HERO with clear benchmarks, a focus on a few targeted behaviors, mobile access across campus, and tiered incentives so every student could participate. The school now uses HERO Behavior Analytics daily and monthly to track class point averages, recognize top students on morning announcements, and guide classroom visits; this approach produced 100% teacher adoption, more consistent positive reinforcement, and a measurable correlation between HERO usage and improved classroom culture.
