A Hero K12 Case Study
Watsonville High School faced an “off the charts” tardy problem: roughly 200 students were being manually checked in every morning, paper passes and a lax discipline matrix made enforcement inconsistent, and classroom instruction was regularly interrupted. To address this, Watsonville partnered with Hero K12 and adopted Hero K12’s automated tardy-tracking platform to replace paper passes and establish clear, enforceable procedures.
Hero K12 automated incident history and pass printing, gave administrators instant reports, and supported a new discipline strategy (including a “Wednesday School” consequence and a strict closed‑door policy). The result was swift and measurable: first-period tardies fell from 200 to 80 per day and passing-period tardies from 20 to 2 per day, a 41% improvement in one quarter, and teacher support rose (96% said Hero helped get students to class on time; 100% supported the initiative).
