How Ford of Europe created a local hazard warning service for drivers, with easy-to-integrate location technology from HERE

Ford of Europe sought to increase driver safety and awareness by creating a system to warn motorists of potential hazards on the road ahead. They partnered with HERE Technologies to gain access to the necessary location technology and data feeds, specifically leveraging the HERE Hazard Warnings service and the incident feed from HERE Traffic.

HERE Technologies delivered a solution by combining its traffic data and hazard warnings with Ford's connected vehicles, enabling real-time alerts for dangers like accidents or slippery roads. The successful implementation resulted in the Ford Puma being the first car in its segment to standardize this Local Hazard Information feature, enhancing safety for drivers. Furthermore, the partnership provided Ford with a new source of anonymized sensor data from its fleet to improve road safety for all.
