Holcim, a global leader in sustainable construction solutions, faced the complex challenge of delivering concrete efficiently. Concrete has a very short 90-minute shelf life, and delays caused by heavy vehicles, route restrictions, or difficulty finding the exact drop-off point could render a load unusable. To improve this process and meet its sustainability goals, Holcim partnered with HERE Technologies to integrate smart location services into its operations.

HERE Technologies provided its location platform, including smart routing and navigation, which was integrated into Holcim's customer-facing ConcreteDirect app. This solution delivered real-time visibility and optimized routes for drivers. The implementation resulted in deliveries that were seven minutes faster on average, saving over 800,000 hours across 200,000 job sites. This led to improved efficiency, a significant reduction in carbon emissions, and higher customer satisfaction, with app orders tripling during the initial rollout.
