Software Developed by Helmes Helps the Aerospace Industry Switch to Digitizing Quality Certification Documentation

The German-Estonian company TraCert identified a significant challenge within the highly regulated aerospace industry: the vast majority of quality certification documentation was still managed on paper. This manual process of issuing, verifying, and archiving thousands of documents daily was extremely time-consuming and costly for manufacturers and suppliers. To address this, TraCert partnered with the software vendor Helmes to develop a digital solution.

Helmes developed the Cert-Trace platform, a secure, web-based system that allows supply chain members to upload and access digital certificates by scanning unique QR codes. The solution utilizes blockchain technology to ensure document integrity and immutability. By digitizing this process, Helmes helped companies drastically reduce manual work and cut costs, with an estimated potential savings of €80 million annually in Europe. The platform also improves data analytics capabilities and reduces the industry's carbon footprint.
