Case Study: International Ice Hockey Federation improves app reliability and user experience with Helmes

How we helped the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) with upgrading their Flutter app while working under significant time constraints

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) needed to upgrade its official Flutter app, which was struggling with technical glitches and poor user feedback, in less than two months before the World Championships. Helmes was tasked with this challenge to improve the app's reliability, user experience, and outdated technical foundation.

Helmes first stabilized the app, improved its UI/UX, and provided live support during the tournament. After the event, they migrated the app from Flutter 1 to Flutter 3, fixing over 1,000 errors. This upgrade enabled new functionalities and significantly increased user satisfaction and app store ratings while reducing maintenance costs and support requests for the IIHF.
