Donegal County Council - Customer Case Study

Donegal County Council, the local government authority in County Donegal, Ireland with around 900 employees, needed to strengthen protection of large volumes of sensitive citizen and administrative data and to combine malware prevention with security‑critical application patching in a single, user‑friendly solution. To address rising ransomware risk and close vulnerabilities, the Council selected Heimdal Security’s Threat Prevention (Endpoint) offering.

Heimdal Security deployed its Threat Prevention Endpoint across all Council endpoints (rolled out via an MSI and GPO) and implemented DarkLayer™ GUARD DNS security plus Heimdal™ Patch & Asset Management, all managed from the Unified Threat Dashboard. The result was a full‑estate rollout that centralized patching and network‑level traffic monitoring/blocking, simplifying administration and reducing the Council’s exposure to ransomware while improving overall endpoint security and manageability.
