MFT Unifies Patching & Access for Cyber Assurance

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is one of the UK’s largest healthcare organizations, managing more than 30,000 endpoints and 1,300 servers across multiple sites. Faced with pressure to meet NHS cybersecurity standards, MFT needed a scalable way to automate third-party software patching and gain granular control over privileged access for hundreds of external suppliers. It chose Heimdal Security to help address these security, visibility, and compliance challenges.

Heimdal Security implemented Patch & Asset Management with Infinity Management, Privileged Account Management & Session Management (PASM), and Remote Desktop to unify patching and secure access across MFT’s environment. The Trust went live in under three months with 100% deployment, improved its Microsoft Defender Endpoint cybersecurity posture score, and replaced unsecured RDP with audited, time-bound supplier access using MFA and Conditional Access. Heimdal Security also gave MFT the logging and control needed to support CAF and DSPT compliance.
