GIIA launches a mobile-first Drupal 9 website in September 2022 with Heavy Penguin

The customer, GIIA, needed a more modern website and content management system to better deliver a wide range of content to its members. Their challenge was to migrate from WordPress to a more visually attractive, secure, and scalable platform with an improved user experience and mobile-first design. Heavy Penguin was engaged to advise on and implement this solution.

Heavy Penguin rebuilt the website using a Drupal 9 CMS hosted on Cloudways. They conducted a detailed discovery, created a new design, and used automated scripts to migrate all content. The results included a simplified user experience, a fully responsive and accessible website, and a Web Excellence Award for Best Association Website in 2024. Heavy Penguin continues to provide ongoing support for the application.
