A Healthfuse Case Study
Tift Regional Health System, a not-for-profit hospital system serving 12 counties in South Central Georgia, faced a major self-pay collections challenge across its hospital and care facilities. After years with the same vendors, the organization found that 68% of accounts were not being worked properly and that its self-pay vendor was collecting less than its bad-debt vendor. Healthfuse was brought in to help improve vendor performance and align collections with revenue goals.
Healthfuse evaluated and updated service level agreements, audited accounts, and created corrective action plans for underperforming vendors. The company also used its Vendor Source Knowledge Base to identify new high-performing vendors for workers’ compensation, motor vehicle, and VA claims. As a result, Tift Regional Health System achieved $13 million in net collection improvement over three years, a 47% increase in self-pay collections, and $7.6 million in unnecessary account holds identified and released.
