A Healthfuse Case Study
Southeast Health, a not-for-profit community hospital serving more than 600,000 people across Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois, partnered with Healthfuse after realizing its community collections vendors were not delivering maximum return. An initial audit found early-out self-pay vendors working only 40% of assigned inventory, accounts missing from bad debt placement, invoicing errors, and weak accountability controls.
Healthfuse built and operated Southeast Health’s Revenue Cycle Vendor Management Office (VMO), combining technology, advisory support, and industry expertise to improve vendor performance. The engagement uncovered a recurring P&L opportunity of $2.3 million and a three-year impact of nearly $7.2 million, including $3.1 million in collections improvements, $240K in invoice recoveries, and $1.054 million in contract savings.
