A Healthfuse Case Study
Marshall Medical Center, a nonprofit acute care provider serving more than 180,000 residents in El Dorado County, was facing rising accounts receivable days, inventory issues, and challenges with self-pay and early-out vendors after consolidating inpatient and outpatient records into a new EPIC®/EPIC™ environment through its UC Davis partnership. To keep billing and cash flow stable during the transition, the hospital turned to Healthfuse for support.
Healthfuse coordinated vendor extractions and implementation during the EPIC® conversion, managing vendor relationships and optimizing revenue cycle operations. The result was $1.8M in initial collections improvement and cost savings, with Healthfuse later delivering $2.9M in collections improvements, $2M in invoice recoveries, and $37K in contract savings through better vendor coordination, payment tools, and contract negotiations.
