John Muir Health, a not‑for‑profit integrated system in the San Francisco Bay Area with more than 300 primary care providers, faced a burdensome, largely manual physician compensation process that was complex and lacked transparency. Health Catalyst implemented an automated physician compensation analytic application—working with John Muir’s compensation experts, business leaders, and data analysts—to calculate pay, provide drill‑down dashboards, and support forecasting and on‑demand self‑service. The solution saved 1,560 hours, integrated more than 10 compensation models and 20 data elements for 300+ providers, retired six manual reports, and delivered transparent, timely compensation insights that improved issue detection and physician satisfaction.
