A Heady Case Study
Weill Cornell Medicine, a top medical school, needed a mobile app to provide customizable cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) treatments and conduct advanced psychiatric research. Their existing app was inflexible, hard-coded, and lacked the ability to tailor programs for different user cohorts. They partnered with the vendor Heady to build a new, dynamic solution from the ground up.
Heady designed and developed a native iOS app, Maya, powered by their proprietary content management system, AMS. This provided Weill Cornell with the flexibility to create and manage infinite, customizable therapy programs without technical assistance. The HIPAA-compliant solution included robust reporting and gamification features. A clinical study found the Maya app significantly reduced anxiety in young people, demonstrating its effectiveness as a mental health tool. Heady continues to maintain and improve the application, which has since expanded to Android.
