A Headspace Case Study
BP, a multinational with nearly 75,000 employees, sought evidence-based digital mental health support after its divestment in Alaska and ran a pilot of Headspace for Work to help employees manage stress and improve sleep during a period of significant change.
Headspace designed a 3-month study (275 participants, 89% field-based) using clinical measures (PSS-4 and PROMIS Sleep Disturbance) and surveys; Headspace users showed strong engagement (30–50% active monthly vs. a 3–5% EAP average), 93% said BP should offer Headspace ongoing, perceived stress declined, resilience improved, poor sleep quality fell 34% (32%→21%), and trouble sleeping decreased 25% (40%→26%).
