Case Study: Ericsson achieves reduced physiological stress and improved sleep quality with Headspace

A Headspace Case Study

Preview of the Ericsson Case Study

Ericsson - Customer Case Study

Ericsson, a global leader in information and communication technology, partnered with Headspace to address employee stress, sleep quality, and engagement. Ericsson invited staff to participate in a scientific evaluation of a 10-day mindfulness program delivered via the Headspace app, using heart rate variability (HRV) as an objective measure of physiological stress-recovery balance before and after the intervention.

Headspace supplied heart rate monitors to 13 participants, ran the 10-day Headspace mindfulness program, and provided personalized HRV reports to quantify impact. The study found measurable improvements: a 10% decrease in physiological stress, a 10% increase in physiological sleep quality, a 64.8% increase in parasympathetic dominance during work and a 5.5% increase during leisure—showing Headspace helped Ericsson employees sleep better, feel less stressed, and be more engaged.
